A take on the classic tale 'The Boy Who Cried Wolf','Big Fat Liar' is about a 14-year-old boy named Jason Shephard (Frankie Muniz) who lies for the fun of it. Jason loses an important story assignment entitled 'Big Fat Liar' in movie producer Marty Wolf's (Paul Giamatti) limo,which Wolf then turns into a film. When Jason sees a movie preview of his story,he and best friend Kaylee (Amanda Bynes) go to Los Angeles to make Wolf confess to using Jason's story as well as to clear Jason's name and to get him out of having to attend summer school. The teen liar then has to match wits with Wolf,who also turns out to be a big liar.

Continuity: When Jason's sister's boyfriend arrives,he clearly switches off his engine and removes the key,but the sound of the engine can still be heard. When he gets in the car again,the keys are in his hand but the engine is still running.

Continuity: After the car is supposedly smashed by the monster truck the mag wheels are different when it is being towed.

Factual errors: The headline in Variety uses the word "Prez" to refer to the new president of the studio. Variety would always use "Prexy",not "Prez".

Continuity: When Marty gets ready to go swimming,he hits a switch to turn on the music. The switch is shown both "on" and "off" after that.

于是趁着暑假英语补习俱乐部的空挡，杰森和好朋友凯丽来到洛杉矶好莱坞片场寻找马提。身为好莱坞最有权利的制片人之一，恶名在外的马提当然不是善主，杰森的作文给了他足够的灵感和荣誉，一旦被世人知道这部片子并不是自己所创作，功名利禄便全完了。于是，马提恶意的将作文烧掉并将杰森赶走。这惹恼了杰森，聪明的杰森刚开始还颇具孩子的信任，认为恶作剧后马提就会妥协退让，可马提为人不善，根本没有一星半点的澄清事实的意思。杰森大大失望几乎要放弃整个计划。就在这个时候，经常受马提压抑的片场工作人员，纷纷义举，杰森带领大家经过一连串精彩的斗智加上上帝的保佑，终于让这位猖狂的恶人、谎言家，在近乎发狂的自信下，喊出他剽窃了杰森的作文。而此时，六个机位都正对着他们的表演做实况转播，天下人都知道了……最后，杰森当然赢得了父母的信任。结局不可避免地再次出现欧式的感人说教。“谎话不可取”。

片中恶整马提的三个计划方案，设计的非常经典。在最后一场追逐中，利用片场的不同戏剧空间，让人过了眼瘾。其中还巧妙的利用了一个西部牛仔对峙的意境。甚是搞笑。唯一美中不足的是对杰森的作文拍摄的经典环节没有选好。对说明该片到底为什么会如此之火，不具说服力。

不过觉得还是欠缺些什么。笑完之后，就只剩在表面的恶作剧。鬼马度尚不如港片周星星系列。^[2]
