这部电影是探讨在80年代后期英国钢铁工人的失业问题及男性对于其自身社会角色的反思，导演彼得?卡特诺试着以一个有趣的话题引入剧情的描述。故事主角的一群失业的英国人，在急需资金，走投无路的情况下，组成一个脱衣舞男团体。
他们几个不是肥得像头猪，就是瘦得像只猴，这些怪人聚集在一起，实在难以想像有谁会看他们的表演，不过由于勇气可嘉，倒是有不少人好奇他们的身材和舞姿，可是通过这样的方式赚钱又谈何容易！为了生活他们必须突破生理与心理的障碍，然后努力朝向脱衣舞男的生涯前进，他们的组合过程充满了笑料，为了使每一次的演出完美，他们所做的一举一动更是妙趣横生，令人捧腹大笑！
本片的英文名《THE MONTY》据电影公司的人介绍是把衣服脱掉，全裸之意。片中表达的不仅是身体上的裸露，更是对现实社会提出反讽，不过各位在观看此片时倒不必如此画面肃，一笑了之就好！
拍摄时六位壮士真的是在400人面前跳的正面全裸脱衣舞，导演Peter Cattaneo称它"一次成功"。
片名是英国的俚语，意为"整个"、"全部"，美国发行方一度为片名感到迷惑因为片中没人叫"Monty"。
该片在美国上映时很多电影院都印制了特别传单，上面是对片中俚语的解释，以便观众能更容易听懂对话。[1]
