经过后期制作与合成，该曲在 1985 年 3 月 7 日公开，在之后发行的幕后制作花絮录像带中，详细披露了歌曲的制作过程。

2010 年美国众明星再次走进录影棚，为海地地震募捐重唱《天下一家》，所得到的资金全部捐给海地政府帮助他们重建家园。^[4] 巴西众艺人为援助海地地震同时也为了庆祝首都巴西利亚建城 50 周年走入录音棚再次用葡萄牙语录制《天下一家》，专辑所得的所有资金也同样全部捐给海地帮助他们重建家园。改编为西语版本，这是这首歌第一次被完全以外语重新改写，而西语版的歌词也被原词作者所肯定。另外，这首歌所得收入，将被直接捐给 We Are The World Foundation，以资助海地人民重建家园。
