根据法国作家佛雷德里克·格伯德同名小说改编。奥克塔夫是知名广告公司的创意总监，在厌倦了时尚名流们奢侈攀比的浮华生活之后，他决定写一本恶毒攻击广告行业的书，作为辞职前的告别演出。打着收集素材的旗号，他开始了堕落的生活，与名流们出入各类声色场所，每个周末都在毒品、性与死亡的包围中度过，直到他遇见一个名叫索菲亚的女孩。爱情让奥克塔夫暂时从物欲横流的世界抽身出来，当他想享受宁静生活的美好，却发现已经为时已晚。^[1]
