3.Stefan偷走了全部棺材之后，Klaus警告Stefan“我会杀了你，还会杀了你所爱的人”。Bonnie会经常梦见，在郊外的一所曾经女巫所居住的老屋中，她看见了被Stefan偷走的棺材，而当Bonnie打开其中一具棺材时看到了Elena的项链在棺材中沉睡的Klaus的手中。当Bonnie将要碰触到项链的时候，被什么东西所惊醒。
4.在一个清晨的早上，Elena在晨跑，发现自己被人跟踪，慌乱中想甩掉这个人，却被撞个正脸，那个男孩向Elena道歉没有看到路。Elena把事情告诉了Bonnie觉得自己开始疑神疑鬼。Bonnie和Elena讨论着一直没有Klaus的动静，而Bonnie一直做着同一个噩梦，感到很不安。Damon仍然像以前一样，过着纸醉金迷的生活。在酒吧中碰上Damon的Ric来找在酒吧打工的Jeremy，Jeremy在这段时间的学习成绩很糟糕，Ric被酒吧的美女服务生告知Jeremy早就被炒鱿鱼了。此刻的Jeremy正在和Tyler一起练习弩箭、聊天。Elena对Jeremy的近况很担心，给Jeremy打电话却无人接听。Damon安慰Elena时，Klaus带着另一个混血Tony来介绍给Elena和Damon认识。原来早上跟踪Elena的男孩就是Tony。Klaus警告Elena他在寻找妹妹还有Stefan偷走了他的棺材。Bonnie来到了梦中的破屋中，发现了Stefan偷走的棺材，Stefan要求Bonnie帮忙隐藏棺材。Bonnie答应了。在另一方，Elena家中，为了Tyler和Elena正在争吵。Jeremy把Tyler请到了家中。Klaus来威胁Damon，想找到妹妹和棺材，无果。Klaus打来电话给Jeremy。Tyler在此时离开，Elena和Ric发现Jeremy脱下戒指不知所踪。在门口看见Jeremy，为救Jeremy，Ric身受重伤。原来Jeremy已经被Klaus进行了精神控制。Elena又让Damon故技重施，抹去了Jeremy的记忆……

第二季Katherine作为主要角色出现，第二季中概述了Katherine的生平及再次归来神秘瀑布镇的原因；
第三季她的出现次数较少，但她的剧情依旧不可忽视；
第四季中，Katherine杀死了Jeremy并获得可让吸血鬼变成人类的解药，并在第23集试图杀死Elena时不小心服食了解药而变成人类；
在第五季中，Katherine是众人所追逐的目标，因为她服食了解药，之后Katherine的真实年龄显现而加速衰老，在第11集中，Katherine即将老死，在千钧一发之时，Katherine联合她的女儿娜迪亚将自己的灵魂附身在Elena身上，随后Katherine用Elena的身份勾引Stefan，并且设计杀害Damon，失败后。Katherine附身在Elena身上的事情被众人发现，大家随即展开了杀死Katherine拯救Elina的计划，但Katherine敏锐地察觉了危险，并准备带女儿娜迪亚出逃，众人用定位咒找到娜迪亚，并依此要挟Katherine，Katherine知道自己死定了，她就将狼人毒液注入在她的身体（实际是Elena的身体）随后去见自己女儿最后一面，在女儿娜迪亚死后，她试着逃跑，但被Damon阻止，告别众人后，死在Stefan怀里，Katherine死后并未进入“the other side”，而是到了黑暗世界。

Stefan是素食主义者，他尊重生命，追崇与人类和平共处。
但是吸血鬼摆脱不了嗜血的命运，也曾迷失过自己，并一直努力控制嗜血的本性。Stefan死去
后为保护所爱之人，强大自己的力量，开始每日吸食少量人血。
代表善良的Stefan成为吸血鬼也拥有一颗纯洁善良的心，这仿佛成为了他的诅咒。
在第五季第21集死亡，22集复活。
Damon Salvatore
1864年给情人Katerina Petrova 转变成吸血鬼
他吸食人血，145年来都痴心的爱着Katherine，知道Katherine并不在乎自己的时候十分愤怒。其实是个“痴情的傻瓜”，冷酷的外表下还有一颗善良的心。不相信任何人，但信任Elena，是Elena让他成为了一个拥有“人心”的吸血鬼，他爱着Elena却没告诉她，担心造成Elena的困扰。由katherine转变，弟弟强制吸血而变成吸血鬼。他做着各种旁人看起来邪恶而疯狂的事情，但是很在乎亲人和朋友，嘴巴上不在乎，可是总是在Stefan和Elena他们受到危险时挺身而出。
第三季时，Damon意外被Tyler咬伤。由于Stefan与Klaus达成了协议——只要救活Damon，Stefan就任由Klaus处置，而Klaus就把Stefan变回杀人狂魔。Stenfan的远走让Damon与Elena的情感有了进一步的发展，但两人并未公开表明对对方的好感，Elena也只一心想救回Stefan。第三季末，Elena由于意外事故被Damon转化成了吸血鬼，第四季Elena对Damon“认祖归宗”。
第四季最后一集中Damon与Elena奠定了男女朋友关系。
第五季最后一集为了救死去的弟弟而死。第六季第5集复活。
