本片由 Sam Weisman 和 Thomas Ackerman 执导，片中饰演 George 的布兰登·弗雷泽（Brendan Fraser），后来接演了《神鬼传奇》系列等电影；女主角 Ursula 则是由 Leslie Mann 担任，她还演过《冒牌，老爸》等片，至於本片中帮猩猩 Ape 配音的则是英国老牌演员 John Cleese，他还演过迪士尼1994年真人版的【森林王子》，并在《米老鼠新传》电视影集中担任引言，近来更在《哈利·波特》系列电影当中饰演霍格华兹学校的鬼魂之一－“差点没头的尼克”。配乐则由 Marc Shaiman 所负责，原声带由迪士尼唱片出版。
